The annual Mardi Gras Parade in the Tower begins at one o'clock and travels east along Olive Avenue to Wishon for over an hour of revelry! The parade theme this year is Myths, Folk and Fairy Tales. Arrive early to stake out your spot along the parade route and plan on retreating into your favorite Tower District haunt for post-parade drinks and treats. Tower District Restaurants will be serving up plenty of Cajun and Creole food like gumbo, jambalaya, po’ boy sandwiches and oyster shooters. Many nightspots will be hosting individual Mardi Gras parties Fat Tuesday night. Call your favorite venue for details.
The Tower District Mardi Gras celebration is made possible by the Tower District Marketing Committee and our good friends at Donaghy Sales and Heineken.
THANK YOU for saving our 2017 Mardi Gras Parade!
We are continuing our fundraisng efforts for 2018's parade.
If you have or know of any businesses willing to sponsor our efforts please contact us at: email@example.com - thank you!
Due to a change in City of Fresno Special Event policies, this year the City of Fresno is requiring us to provide “Hard Street Closures” in order to continue having our parade. This is mainly a Safety/ Liability issue that the City is no longer willing to accept.
Even by reducing the length of our parade by 50% the cost increase for these augmented closures will be an additional $5000 over what we normally pay for street closures.
All donations greatfully accepted.
